If you are like me, it is very easy to forget to clean your makeup brushes. It is very important to make sure your brushes are clean when you apply it to your face. Today we are going to talk about the best products to remove makeup and how often you should clean them.
How to Clean Your Brushes
In order to clean your brushes you need lukewarm water, a makeup brush cleanser or a gentle soap, and paper towels or a towel. I personally use Dawn soap to clean my brushes and it works great. Most brush cleansers on the market are pretty good.
Take your brushes and put the bristles in water. Try not to wet the entire brush where the brushes are glued to the handle. The warm water can loosen the glue and the bristles can fall off.
Put some soap on the bristles and swirl the brush in the palm of your hand or get a brush glove (pictured down below) which I totally recommend. Do this until there is no more makeup running from your brushes.
Make sure all the soap is rinsed out and squeeze the left over water out from all your brushes.
If you do not want to ruin your brushes you need to shape them into the original form and lay them down on a paper towel to dry.
Once your brushes are dry they are good to go!
Other Tips For Clean Brushes
Experts say you should clean your brushes at least once a week. You do not want to be putting dirty brushes on your face because that can cause breakouts, especially if your face is very sensitive. Bacteria grows on brushes really fast if you are using them everyday. Make sure your brushes are clean for your next application of makeup and you are good to go!
Considering that I have sensitive skin, I’ll definitely be more of aware of washing my makeup brushes & beauty blenders more often
